Be captivated by the rich stories of ancient Egyptian civilization as you explore an exceptionally curated treasure room. Discover a selection of original artefacts dating back to 4000 B.C., including a funerary shabti from the 20th Dynasty, part of Howard Carter’s private collection. Marvel at statuettes and vases from the reigns of Tutankhamun and Ramses II & III, alongside meticulously crafted replicas and facsimiles from Egypt. This extraordinary collection offers a rare glimpse into the opulence and mystery of ancient Egypt.
Continue your journey into a massive immersive video mapping room, where the rich history of Egypt comes to life on an 8-metre-high canvas. Spanning more than 1,200 square metres of vivid projections, this 30-minute immersive movie explores Egypt’s natural landscapes, cultural heritage, the life of Tutankhamun, and the groundbreaking discovery of his tomb. Adding authenticity to the experience, the voice of Howard Carter himself narrates the dramatic moment of the tomb’s unveiling, transporting visitors back to one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in history.
Blending history with innovation, this exhibition leverages state-of-the-art technology to transport visitors into Tutankhamun’s world. Points to Note
- Accessibility
- The exhibition is wheelchair friendly. There are accessible toilets on the ground floor. There is step-free access from the train at the Elizabeth line and Docklands Light Railway stations to the event.
- Arrival Time
- The premises offer very limited space for guests arriving early to wait. Please try not to arrive too early.
- Bags
- Backpacks and larger bags will not be allowed inside the exhibition. Lockers are available to store your bags and coats when you visit (£3 per locker). You can reserve and pay for your locker via your phone by scanning a QR code as you enter the hall.
- Disallowed Items
- Food and beverages, umbrellas, bags larger than A4 size and prams/buggies.
- Food and Drink
- There is a selection of retail units in Excel London providing a diverse range of food and drinks. There are free water refill points on the Boulevard close to the entrance to the venue. Please note: All retail outlets are cash-less.
- Seating
- The exhibition is a walk-through event. There are some benches and swivel seats in selected rooms.
- Timing
- Please go at your own pace. The average time taken by attendees is around 90 minutes.
